Let their be light! • Minnetrista Baby Photographer

Well aren’t I on a blogging roll! :) I hope people didn’t give up on my blog when I wasn’t posting. I really am going to try and do more….even if it is just a fun unrelated post. :)

When I went to Jodie Otte’s workshop in January I learned how to use studio lighting to replicate window light. I already had the light just needed to get the softbox. Well it arrived last week and I have been using it ever since. I actually still LOVE natural light but use this to supplement the window light that I get at client’s homes. I have “practiced” using the light with a few families that I know - that way if I screw up or am not sure what I am doing - it’s just with friends….takes the pressure off. So, here are a couple from a shoot the other day with my good friend Bethany’s baby girl. Kennedy has the most fun and lively little facial expressions! So, here is my first attempt at using the light! I think I’m hooked! What do you think?

blog2I took my light to my first client home today for a 6 month session! It went great and there were lots of smiles! I also had a little session with my cousin’s little guy Charlie. Look for those this week!
