LOooooOooong Overdue…..

Blogging. I used to love it. Now…it has just become one more step in the process of my day. It often (obviously) gets pushed to the next day and then the next.

However, I need to share and I need to write about my crazy summer! I put together a bunch of collages the other day so I will post photos and share tidbits about the sessions. This is by no means all of them …. just a few…

Kayleigh! All that needs to be said is…LOOK AT THE DRESS! Wooo! It was fun to shoot with! I have always wanted a senior client to bring their prom dress and Kayleigh did just that! :)

Rachel, Rachel…. You are so cute! :) Every shot with you was just perfection! You have the most beautiful eyelashes and smile and I could go on and on. You were a joy to work with and I am so thankful you called me for round #2!! :)         Other photographers reading - there is like NO retouching on her eyes - they are that clear and bright and sharp! I swear - she’s a beauty! :)

Katie. You’ve got style! And a fierce attitude that was PERFECT for our session! She brought along her best friend for some laughs and it worked like a charm! Note to future seniors - bring a friend - it helps SOOOO much! :) We went all around the Sculpture Garden, under a bridge, the Walker building - it was an awesome session. Hard to believe it was that warm just a couple months ago!

Hannah. Another unique soul. Hannah, you have the an awesome personality. I am actually at a loss for words when it comes to this session! I had a blast! She wanted to go to this “field” that she had been to with some friends. So, her Mom and I and Hannah drove around Minnetonka looking for this “field” that she had been to. It was literally the “WOODS”. We had to hike through knee high brush to get to the opening where we did the session. It was breathtaking once we got there. Now…. if  I could only find it again. However something tells me not a lot of people would be willing to trek where we trekked. :)

Clohe. She was a little nervous. Who wouldn’t be. Not many people are used to having 2 hours of photos taken of them. And only them. Just you, me and the camera. AWKWARD! So…. when we arrived at the Peace Gardens in Minneapolis near Lake Harriet we were surprised my loud shriek! We had just gotten sprayed with a 15 foot line of water coming from sprinklers across the garden. Not just one but LOTS! So, we went to the Bandshell to wait them out. Well, it took a while but they finally were done and we got what we wanted. But, Hey, that is what makes my job exciting right??! By the way - I don’t think she looks nervous at all - she looks like a natural!

Sophie. Oh my has she grown up to be a beautiful girl! :) I did her brother’s photos when I was first starting out almost 4 years ago! I am so happy that I got to do Sophie’s too. We had a lot of fun trying out different poses and looks. I think she does a great serious face don’t you?? I know her Mom (one of the former Pastors at my church) and her Dad pretty well and both she and her brother are a good mix of her parents - it was fun to see that shine through in her photos.

Last but not least - Bri. She is a model for Target and some other companies and we have worked together before. She is so glam! :) I love that each of these girls brought their own style and look to the photos. Like the boots and feather in her hair. I tried the same headband on the other day. Am I getting old? It looked super dumb on me! Bri you rocked that feather! ;) I am glad we could do some photos for you! Oh yeah and she and Sophie (above) are great friends and are both dancers - hence the jumping photo!

Well, one more senior will grace the blog soon. You have seen her before! :) I loved all “my girls” this summer and I can’t wait for next year!!!!!!!!! :) Have a good Senior year!

Love, Emily (Your long lost blogging friend).
